Dr. Tamás Joó, data-driven health expert, Deputy Head of the Data-Driven Health Division of the National Laboratory for Health Security, gave a presentation at the 42nd Circular Connection Conference - We and AI - Artificial Intelligence and Digitalization in Project Management, organized by the Hungarian Project Management Association, on 25 November 2024 at the Bosch Budapest Innovation Campus. In his presentation entitled Dr. AI, or the present and future of data-driven health, he approached the topic from the perspective of data problems: recalling the data-oil analogy, he spoke, among other things, about the huge potential of Hungary in the application of artificial intelligence in healthcare and in the development of these solutions. Dr. Tamás Joó also provided an example of how data generated in non-health systems and data-driven or AI-based healthcare solutions can be used in patient care, diagnostics, prevention, research and other areas.
The development requires a large amount of data, which is available in an almost unique way in the Hungarian healthcare sector. With minor restrictions, patient data has been collected in a more or less uniform format since 1993, and the launch of EESZT (Electronic Health Service Space ) in 2017 has given a further boost to this process. All this provides an excellent basis for AI-based applications, even developed by market players, from which the Hungarian healthcare sector could also benefit.
