Dr. Peter Pollner, colleague of the National Laboratory for Health Security Data-Driven Health Division and his co-authors published an article in the August issue of Nature Communications on the presence of pathogens of various origins in sewage, including antibiotic-resistant bacterial strains (antimicrobial resistance, AMR). The results can help in the effective monitoring of pathogens and AMR in sewage, for example in epidemiology.
