The healing power of NIS2: A secure future for healthcare

Full house at the NIS2 Information Forum for health and health industry leaders on 13. February 2024.

The most important issues wich are also relevant for the Health Safety National Laboratory Data-Driven Health Division and are related to NIS2 were discussed during short presentations and an interactive round table discussion at the professional forum held at the Semmelweis University Health Services Management Training Centre.

The event was jointly organised by the Semmelweis University Health Services Management Training Centre, the Supervisory Authority for Regulatory Affairs of Hungary (SARA) and EY Hungary. Dr. Tamás Palicz, Deputy Director of Semmelweis University Health Services Management Training Centre, healtcare cybersecurity expert, dr. Balázs Bencsik, Director of Cybersecurity at SZTFH and Mihály Zala, Technology Partner at EY. The panel discussion was moderated by Ildikó Ádám, partner of EY, healthcare economist and Olivér Bor, communication and cybersecurity expert.

From a cybersecurity perspective, healthcare is a field that needs to be addressed, as it is extremely rich in data, said Dr. Miklós Szócska, Director of Semmelweis University Health Services Management Training Centre, Dean of Semmelweis University Faculty of Health and Public Administration and head of the Health Safety National Laboratory Data-Driven Health Division. He mentioned that the Centre will launch an MSC programme with the title Data Science in Health from September 2024, which will significantly facilitate the further training of health and IT professionals working in this field.
